Toledo Show 2014
« on: April 13, 2014, 10:11:20 am »
Hi guys,

We were asked again this year to fly out to Toledo and give a couple Rc-Aerotowing seminars during the trade show weekend. Rob decided to attend again this year and we had a blast.
The Toledo show is really worth traveling to for anyone who has never been. Its 3 or 4 times larger than the Wrams show and most manufacturers will wait until TOLEDO to introduce new items.

This year was no disappointment.
Its no secret I'm a huge Horizon Hobbies fan, their products always fly great, hold up well and look fantastic. So what was new from Horizon.

Hold onto your socks.
The new 50-60 cc MUSTANG is phenomenal.http://www.horizonhobby.com/products/p-51d-mustang-60cc-arf-HAN4770

The fit and finish looks painted on, but in fact its covering. Featuring optional ELECTRIC retracts, this bird is destined to be a popular addition to their high quality line of planes.
The prototype at the show was designed around the new 62 cc FUEL INJECTED Evolution gas motor. That's correct, no needles to adjust, just flip and fly.

The spinner comes with the plane, already painted and ready to install.
A complete cockpit that will fit a full body pilot.
All wood construction.

It should be a big winner!!!

The Hangar 9 Corsair was on display too, wow, I have not seen this plane before ( sometimes I just dont pay attention) but what a beauty. Why doesn't anyone have this at our field? It was introduced last year I'm told.

The new micro Radian was present,  which Tim now has in stock,http://www.horizonhobby.com/products/umx-trade-radian-reg-bnf-EFLU2980

The 30cc Beaver was there strutting its sexy lines and robust landing gear. We have one going together and you'll be able to see it at the field and pond this summer.

Many of these products just being introduced and are due to be in stock in the next 4-5 weeks, so check with Tim and get one on order!!!!!!

Moving onto other stuff, Quad copters were everywhere. It's kinda like the rc car craze at the time, everyone is jumping on-board.

There were some nice scale pilots being shown, even with moving heads.

The new Jeti radio system is really something. If you haven't seen that, take a look.

I'll post more comments as time allows.
