Well Fred,
Now that you have had a chance to run the engine on a stand, give us a small report, please.   :P

Just finished my Canadair CL415 WaterBomber and she is ready for a maiden flight. Has a little over 50 inch wingspan and is powered by twin 400 outrunner motors with a 2600 3 cell pack. Hope to get her out to the field over the Memorial Day weekend and see how she goes. I am now back working on an old project thats been on the back burner for a while my F22 Raptor twin EDF I'll have more info and pics this week. BCNU Walter

I've been using them for the last 2 years. They're pretty good about stocking parts for eflite and Parkzone park fliers but that's about it. Also they always have spectrum and futaba stuff in stock. Check out rc hobbies and more in winsted ct. They are one of the best rc stores I've ever been in. They have EVERYTHING!!

FYI,  The Time Machine in Manchester is beginning to stock RC parts.  I was told today that they want to become a hobby shop that RC guys will consider going to for parts as well as ARFs.  They are in the process of re-arrainging the entire back of the 1st floor.  They're not there yet but they want to attract RCers from all the surrounding clubs.  I hope they succeed.

That is still an open issue and we are working on it.  Bernie reported the progress being made by the committee at the April 15thy meeting.  For the moment, I will see if we can insert a weather link to the closet weather station to out field so at least yo can get temp, wind, velocity, & conditions.  That's the best we can do for now.

General Discussion / What's the latest on the field's weather station, web cam, etc?

Nice new site and good to see a membership forum.
I thought I would ask here but as the subject states Can anyone describe the current status of this project?
Truthfully it would be quite nice to check the temp and wind speed as well as take an actual look to see if anyone is actually there?
I'd sure others have run into this but the drive down only to find no one there or the wind too strong is a big waste of gasoline and time.

General Discussion / Glow ENginnes Converted to Gas

Just purchased a Ch Ignition conversion kit for larger Saito engines.   I will be converting a Saito 1.80 Golden Knight to run on Gasoline.  CH suggests the rpm will be lower but 500-1000 rpm so it will be interesting to see how this converted engine performs.  I have solicited Ron Czikowsky to be sure we have 2 sets of eyes and hands performing the conversion.  It does appear simple & the only real issue is getting the timing correct.  Another interesting comment suggested by CH is converting a glow engine to CDI will result in a more reliable lower RPM, usually results a in a gain of a couple of hundred RPM at the top end, with a fuel economy increase of up to 25%.

 8) Hi Fred, I put up three pics last night they are thumbnails just below the post I can see them and open them.Hi Len yeah that kit would be an awesome build for sure this one is by far more simple came from KMP models in Canada and is molded foam.Would be a quick build but needs a few mods for reliability and water proofing. I'll take a couple of pics and will put them up.BCNU Walt 8)
