Minutes of the January 21st, 2004 Meeting

The meeting was called to order at 8:09 PM with 31 members in attendance. The minutes of the last meeting were accepted as read.

The Treasurer reported and accepted as follows, December beginning balance $7,853.66, Income $1,020.00, Expenses $1,125.65.00, closing balance $7,748.01.

Old Business:

Stones Ranch-. National Guard will not allow civilian events at this time..

New sign- Tom Vernon and Fred Meyer have read documents and will be going to City Hall for further clarification on signage.

Moving the meeting site- By-laws state that Meetings must be held on Wednesday. All sites that were looked into were booked for Wednesdays. Therefore, the meetings will continue in East Lyme and the Treasurer will cut a check to the church.

New Business:

· 2004 Events- The 2004 events were voted and approved as follows:

§ June 12-13 - Bob Berringer. Lou Carpio will head up the event with Dick Wilkins as CD

§ July 26-27 - Henry Struck Electric. Dick Wilkins will be the CD and head up this event.

§ August 15 - Neighborhood Fun Fly. Fred Meyer will head up the event and contact scout troops.

§ August 26 - Club Fun Fly. John Banks IV will head up this event.

§ September 6 - Heli Fly In (tentative date) Charlie Lewis to confirm.

§ With our new neighbors in mind, the members voted not to hold the IMAA event for 2004.

· Noise Level- Lou Carpio reminded all members to be conscience of their own noise levels and to keep flight patterns as distant as possible from the newly constructed homes.

· Website- John Judd to get RCPropbusters domain name.  Domain name has been secured as www.rcpropbusters.com 

· Possible Future Flying Sites - Fred Meyer read that the Niantic Sportsman Club bought a 70-acre parcel in East Lyme near Stones Ranch. Ed Wawrzynowski is a member and will talk to the Club about possible use. Also looking into the Groton Landfill on Wells Road or the Waterford landfill (currently in the process of capping and at least 1 year from completion).

Most Improved Flyer of the Year- Dennis Duplice was voted as most improved flyer.

New members- Wayne Hurd, J. Peter Plenninger (Lou Carpio as proxy) and David Pettingill (Brian Jolicoeur as proxy) were voted in as new members. Welcome.

Plane of the Month- Les Haley and Ted Campanelli.
