Next Club Meeting - Weds. May, 21st @ 8:00 P.M.

Minutes of the April 16th, 2003 Meeting

The meeting was called to order at 8:05 PM with 22 members in attendance.  The minutes of the last meeting were accepted as read.  The Treasurer reported and accepted as follows, Jan. beginning balance $7,206.13, Income $761.20, Expenses $541.19, Closing balance $7,426.14.

 Old Business: Club Banquet - Next year-Fred will call Mrs. Norman to see what dates are available for next   year.

Roller Update - Ron Czikowsky will get us a good used battery from his workplace.

R/C Propbusters - Dick Wilkins is making progress on type of club.  Stay tuned.  Possible New Flying site - Fred is talking to the Dept. of Parks and Rec. in Groton about using the Flanders Landfill as a possible future flying site.  He is also talking to Waterford about the closed landfill there.  Field Maintenance Day - Sat April 19th. Need bodies, wire brushing, painting, replace ropes, raking, rolling, bring rakes/shovels, etc.  There is 5 gallons of Thompson’s to put on the benches and fresh paint for the metal frames.

2003 Schedule of Events- As follows:

NENATS RC Combat Event- Sat. June 14, CD Jim Reith. No update. Bob Berringer Memorial Scale Fly In– Sat & Sun. - June 28 & 29, CD Dick Wilkins.  No update.

Henry Struck Memorial Electric Fly In- Sat. July 26, CD Jorge Cintron.  No update.

Neighborhood Fun Fly-Sat. Aug 16.  No update.

IMAA #392Giant Scale Fly - In Event @ Salem - Sat & Sun- Aug 30 & 31, no update.

Club Fun Fly - Sat Sept 13 / Rain Date Sun Sept 14.  No update.

Helicopter Fun Fly - Sat & Sun- Sept 27 & 28.  No update.

Fertilizing - The field was acknowledged to be in great shape.  A discussion was held about having Ralph Bowen do the field again.  A motion was made seconded and passed to have him continue to fertilize the field.  The amount authorized was up to $900.00.  He will also be asked to spread some grass seed as well.  Help For Events - For the events we are having this year, Fred has asked for volunteers to form committees for each event. Especially the NENATS Event where many volunteers are needed to help judge the event.  Fred hoped that some club members would also get involved and compete this year as well. 

 Other New Business - Jack Holmgren suggested that we buy and install 6 or 8 green metal fence posts to mark out the enlarged parking area.  He will do that during the cleanup day.  

No New members this month -  Plane of the Month - No new plane of the month this month but Mark O Connell brought a Magic ARF to show.  Meeting adjourned at 8:49 PM.  Respectfully Submitted: Bernie Liskov Subbing For Diane Carpio.

Bozrah Hardware has been quite kind to the Club in selling us the lawnmower parts for a very good price.  I thought it would be a good idea to thank them here and especially John Noblet and the parts guy Phil.  If you patronize them tell them that you are from the R/C Propbusters.
