Minutes of the August 20th, 2003 Meeting

The meeting was called to order at 8:10 PM with 16 members in attendance. The minutes of the last meeting were accepted as read.

The Treasurer reported and accepted as follows, June beginning balance $7,063.87, Income $405.16, Expenses $134.16, closing balance $7,334.87.

Old Business:

Club Banquet- Fred is looking at a date in late November, he will try to get the available dates for us for the next meeting, and he is also looking to set up a committee at the September meeting. Stay tuned.

R/C Propbusters- Dick Wilkins is making progress on type of club, stay tuned.

Possible New flying site- Fred and Dick Wilkins looked at Stones Ranch as a possible flying sight. Fred has penned a second letter to officially ask permission to use the site and we are waiting on a response. Stay tuned.

New Business:

· 2003 Schedule of Events- As follows:

Henry Struck Memorial Electric Fly In- Sat. July 26, CD Jorge Cintron. We had 20 pilots sign in and about 50 planes continuous flying from 9 am till 2:30 pm, it was a super event. Possible 2 day event next year.

Neighborhood Fun Fly-Sat. Aug 16. Chair person Mark Rice. Awesome turn out with a scout troop of about 35 with parents from the Essex area took turns flying 3 trainers and watched some great demos. Thank you to Mark Rice who donated the food and thank you to his wife Linda who came and cooked for us.

IMAA #392Giant Scale Fly-In Event @ Salem- Sat & Sun- Aug 30 & 31. Same deal as last year, club gets 50% of sign up fees. Looking at possible income of $150.00+.

Club Fun Fly- Sat Sept 13 / Rain Date Sun Sept 14. No games this year, just a fun fly with free food. Plan on showing up to fly and just have fun. Motion made vote & passed to pick up a plane & motor as raffle prizes for this event.

Helicopter Fun Fly- Sat & Sun- Sept 27 & 28. Charlie Lewis has his CD card; sanction may have been sent out.

Noise levels- We will be looking at noise levels again this winter.

New sign- We will be looking into possibly putting up a more permanent sign at the driveway entrance.

New members- Norman Bardsley was voted in; welcome and welcome back Walter Johnson.

No Plane of the Month
