Next Club Meeting - Weds. November 19th, @ 8:00 P.M.

 

Minutes of the October 15th, 2003 Meeting

The meeting was called to order at 8:00 PM with 19 members in attendance. The minutes of the last meeting were accepted as read.

The Treasurer reported and accepted as follows, June beginning balance $7,289.30, Income $425.00, Expenses $25.14, closing balance $7,689.16.

Old Business:

Club Banquet- The Elks where we had the banquet is booked up for Nov. & Dec. Will try to find an alternate place for a weekend in early Dec.

R/C Propbusters- No update from Dick Wilkins.

Possible New flying site- Fred has looked at Stones Ranch as a possible flying sight site. We have had no response with the 2 letters that he has penned, he would like to talk to someone in person but doesn’t know who. Stay tuned.

New sign- Gadbois has no problem with us putting up a permanent sign, Fred & Tom will work on getting one put up.

Town hall- Fred went to the town hall to introduce the club and will speak to the head of park & rec. dept. to try to get a youth group involved in our events next year.

Noise levels- A lot of the noise that is heard is prop noise, try to help out the new guys in selecting the right prop for their engines.  Noise levels will be an on going issue.

New Business:

· 2003 Schedule of Events- As follows.

Club Fun Fly- 16 people attended, 200+ raffle tickets were sold and the winner was Lou Carpio.

Helicopter Fun Fly- Charlie Lewis brought in $205.00 even with the washout on Sunday.

Port-a-potty- Will be pumped and winterized.

Big Mower- Seat Adjustment  needs to be fixed, Ron Czikowsky will fix it.

Bates Woods- In the upcoming year we will be dropping Bates from our Insurance with AMA. As now the city of New London has put a new policy in place the charges $25.00 a day per each day that it is used by any club.

Most Improved Flyer of the Year- Nominations will be cast and a vote held at the December meeting for this award.

Elections- Nominations were held, Motion made, Seconded, Vote and Passed that all nominees will be put in office as follows:

New members- None.

Plane of the Month- Lester (Smitty) Smith brought in a ME 109.
