Minutes of the August, 18th 2004 Meeting

The August 18, 2004 meeting of the RC Propbusters was called to order at 8:15pm

The July Minutes: were accepted as read

Treasurer’s report: was accepted as read.

  Old Business:

Electric Fly-In:  The electric fly in went great and we had a total of 26 registered pilots even with the not-so-cooperative weather.  Fun was had by all and the event was a great success.

Neighborhood Fly-in:  Ray Knieriem reported that the neighborhood fly-in went great even with the marginal weather.  The parking lot was packed and we had visitors from the local neighborhood and local boy-scout troops. Thanks for all of the volunteers for their time and their airplanes.

Sign: Jack reported that the design for the sign was turned in and the sign should be in progress.  We should see it in place in the next several weeks.

Meeting Times:  A short discussion was held regarding the meeting date and times.

  New Business:

Club Fun-Fly: 29th Sunday, August.  John Banks IV will be heading up this event.  Suggestions were brought up for activities at the fun fly. John will come up with some ideas and bring the necessary materials to the field. Free food and drink will be served along with some raffle prizes.

Flying Demo:  Dick Wilkins reported that the RC Propbusters have been asked to do a flying demo at a local farm.  The site is located about 3 miles from the Salem field and the only concern is whether or not it is a safe distance from the Salem field.  Dick will further investigate any frequency problems and report back.   Saturday, September 18th.  This event is for the Salem Land Trust Association and will be great for the good and welfare of the club.

Heli-Fly:  A discussion was held regarding the heli-flyin.  There were no updates at this point but Charlie Lewis will be contacted regarding his plans for the event.

Field Rules:  Jack brought up the regulation regarding flying times at the field.  Jack reminded members that flying times during the week days are 9am until dark and 10am until dark on the weekends.  A motion was also made to make flying times for holidays from 10am until dark as a courtesy to our neighbors. Motion so moved.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:49 PM

  Respectfully Submitted,

John Banks IV

Secretary
